Green Economy Panel recruitment
A unique opportunity to serve on a high-profile, nationally-recognised strategic panel supporting the Local Enterprise Partnership.
The Opportunity
The Green Economy Panel leads the LEP's ambition to become a lean, resource efficient economy underpinned by a 21st century energy infrastructure. Our panel members bring their private sector expertise to advise on issues that have a direct impact on the ground; from investment planning for energy infrastructure to the design of business support programmes.
The Person
We are looking for three Chief Executives or Directors driving resource efficient businesses; either through their own operations or as suppliers to the market. Specifically, we are looking for representatives from the manufacturing; retail; and property/development sectors.
Possessing the following qualities and experience will be essential:
- A clear strategic vision, excellent communication and leadership skills and a demonstrable understanding of the emerging opportunities for the low carbon and adaptation sectors;
- Significant current experience as a leading organisation in the City Region's Green Economy;
- Well connected with demonstrable links with other businesses and organisations in the green economy sector
- Commitment to serve for up to two years; at bi-monthly Panel meetings.
Interest is welcome from individuals employed at Director level or above. We are keen to attract high calibre business people from all sectors of our diverse communities. These positions are voluntary; however expenses will be reimbursed.
How to apply
For an informal discussion please contact Melanie Taylor at Leeds City Region or send your outline CV with a covering email setting out how you think you could contribute to the work of the Panel to melanie.taylor@leeds.gov.uk.
The closing date for expressions of interest is noon on Friday 14th March.
