SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BARNSLEY

TLM JOBS AND THE EMPLOYER

HOW ARE TLM JOBS ORGANISED AND SELECTED?
A number of local employers and agencies are contracted by Social Enterprise Barnsley to manage and co-ordinate the delivery of TLM places.

HOW DOES YOUR ORGANISATION BENEFIT?
You can gain the following advantages:

  • Increased organisational capacity
  • New skills and perspectives brought by the TLM employees
  • Opportunity to plan or restructure staff resources more appropriately
  • In-house staff performing TLM supervision and training roles can gain new skills from the process
  • It can greatly assist the launch, development and progress of new enterprises
  • Where TLM posts deliver or increase organisational capacity to deliver income-generating activities, the TLM period can offer the opportunity to develop trading activity to the point where those jobs are sustainable and permanent by the end of the programme.

While there are significant policy, health and safety and administrative activities associated with taking on TLM employees, these can be positively used to enhance organisational infrastructure.

Organisations participating in the TLM Programme must have the following in place:

  • Equal opportunities policy
  • Health and safety policy
  • Adequate insurance
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures.
