TRANSITIONAL LABOUR MARKET (TLM)
TLM JOBS AND THE EMPLOYEE
ELIGIBILITY
This can vary according to the particular funding gained to create each TLM place, but generally the eligibility criteria are:
- Aged 18-24 years - you must be a Barnsley district resident and continuously unemployed for the last six months or longer
- Aged 25+ years - you must be a Barnsley district resident and continuously unemployed for the last 12 months or longer
- In some instances candidates may be eligible much sooner. Examples of these are: Lone parents, people with disabilities, black and ethnic minorities, ex-offenders and people of any age who have become unemployed as part of a large-scale redundancy. People leaving the armed forces may also be eligible.

The TLM programme is tailored to individuals’ needs but to get the best results you must have the following:
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to take full advantage of all the training, help and support that is offered
- Commitment to gaining permanent employment.
