Barnsley has ready access to the nation’s major road networks. Three major road junctions serve Barnsley with junction 37 of the M1 motorway just one mile from the town centre creating fast efficient links to Leeds, Sheffield, London and other major UK cities. The M62 and M18 motorways are also only 20 miles away providing links to Hull, Grimsby, Manchester and Europe via rail, air and sea.

Barnsley Interchange

The new Barnsley Interchange is a new colourful, curved £24 million complex combining bus, rail, coach and taxi travel and outstanding passenger facilities alongside six retail units, a café, 80 park and ride spaces and an information centre. This airy and welcoming space shows that first impressions really do count. The new Interchange creates a transport hub in the heart of the town centre not only linking Barnsley to the rest of the UK and Europe but also to the many leisure, cultural and shopping experiences that Barnsley has to offer.
