CUSTOMER FIRST ACCREDITATION FOR SEB TEAM

The Social Enterprise Barnsley (SEB) team at Barnsley Development Agency (BDA) has recently achieved the 'Customer First' quality assurance standard - a framework for providers and deliverers of publicly funded business support services.
SEB provide business support to social enterprises in order to develop and grow the social economy in Barnsley - the sector of business activities focussing on people, jobs and opportunities and creating profit to be used for community benefit.
The Customer First Framework is used by an increasing number of strategic and funding bodies to ensure that business support provision delivered under their programmes meets the needs of small and medium sized enterprises.
The Framework, which is formally endorsed by key regional funding bodies, presents many benefits to the external customer. These include: the delivery of services they want and need; reduction in the duplication of services; an improved continuity of service delivery and referrals to the most appropriate deliverers of business support.
Carol Cooper-Smith, Assistant Director Economic Regeneration at BDA, commented, "We are extremely pleased that our Social Enterprise Team have been confirmed as being fully compliant with the Customer First Framework. This strongly supports our vision to become a key influencer and supplier to a local business environment, designed to stimulate entrepreneurial and small business development and thus, job creation."
