DRIVING KENDRAY FURNITURE RECYCLING FORWARD

Kendray Furniture Recycling Centre is going from strength to strength and have just employed Melvyn Jagger as a full time driver, to ensure their customers continue to receive a first class service. The centre recycles unwanted items of furniture, refurbishes them and returns them to the community at affordable prices.

In addition the centre has recently started to produce a range of products for the home and garden, and it is this that has led to the need for a new driver. Melvyn’s job is being supported by a grant from the Key Fund Global Grants.


Kendray Furniture Recycling Centre has been open for just over three years and is a social enterprise developed with help and assistance from Barnsley Development Agency’s Social Enterprise Barnsley Team (Formerly CERT) in conjunction with the local Community Partnership and a training provider. Social Enterprise Barnsley Co-ordinator Andy Arnold adds, “Melvyn will be invaluable to the centre, and he is a much welcomed addition to the current team of six”. Melvyn will be picking up donated items of furniture and delivering sold items to local households.
