WORSBROUGH COMMUNITY CAFÉ IS READY TO BE SERVED!!!

Worsbrough Community Link has recently secured funding in order to launch a community café which has just opened for business at the Community Church on the High Street at Worsbrough Dale, Barnsley.

Working in conjunction with the Community Economic Regeneration Team (CERT) at Barnsley Development Agency the charity have secured monies from Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) and Objective 1 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This has allowed Worsbrough Community Link to make alterations to the kitchen and employ two staff-a catering manager and assistant to run the Café.


The café is run as a non-profit making community enterprise and recycles any profits made back into the business, in order to provide a low cost, high quality service to the people of Worsbrough.

Philip Nuttall of Worsbrough Community Link said, “An establishment such as a café can provide a focal point for the community; we are hoping that in establishing a community run facility we can regain some of the spirit in the community whilst also providing jobs in our area.” He added, “Without the help and support of the caseworkers at CERT, this project would never have happened, I would like to sincerely thank them for aiding the start of a new era at Community Link.”

Andy Arnold, Team Coordinator at CERT agreed, “This is an excellent example of how groups can have a positive long lasting effect in their communities, Community Link have seized the opportunity and made things happen, I wish them every success for the future.”
