BARNSLEY'S COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE EXPERT MOVES ON TO A NATIONAL ROLE


Barnsley Development Agency said goodbye to its Community Economic Regeneration Manager, Janet Bibby, on 25 July, as she moves onto the national stage, heading up, as Chief Executive, The Nationwide Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

Janet has built up and run BDA's Community Enterprise Development Team (CERT) for the last four and a half years, expanding it from an initially small project with a £350K annual budget to a £2 million per year social enterprise and community business development unit with a national as well as regional reputation for excellence.


John Penney, BDA's Chief Executive said; "Janet Bibby will be much missed. She has put Barnsley at the forefront of the development of social enterprise development and Intermediate Labour Market, bridges back to work, projects, over the last four and a half years. We are very proud that her skills and dedication have led to her getting the job of Chief Executive of a national organisation at the heart of the social enterprise agenda in the UK. We wish her well, and are sure that her pioneering work with CERT will now be carried on successfully by the BDA and its new Community Economic Regeneration Manager, Kevin Jebson.”
