BANKING ON SPRINGTIME FUN

Scout Dike Activity Centre in Penistone, Barnsley is planning Multi-Activity Days throughout the Spring Bank Holidays to entertain the children during the school break.

From the 27th to the 30th May children aged from 5 to 11 years can participate in a wide range of exciting activities, which include football, cricket, hockey, basketball, mountain biking, archery, den building, survival skills, obstacle courses, walks, performing arts and computing. Days start at 8.30am and finish at 5.00pm and for just £18 per day or £65 for 4 days (including lunch), the children will not find the time to get bored.

The last event held during the Easter Holidays was a tremendous success. One lady from Athersley South said, “My daughter has not stopped talking about it, she had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return. It’s great value for money and I don’t need to worry about childminders”.

Since reopening its doors in March 2002, the centre has been constantly expanding its activities to provide great facilities for local residents, schools, colleges, sports teams and community groups from all over the country and beyond, even as far afield as Russia.

Scout Dike is situated in 10 acres of its own grounds on the fringes of Penistone overlooking the tranquil Scout Dike Lake. It has a sports field, games room, disco, classrooms, conference facilities and accommodation for up to 80 people, which offers exceptional value for money.

If you are interested in the Activity Days being held throughout Spring Bank or would like to use the centre for training days, activity weekends, youth work, summer camps or for team building exercises, throughout the year then please contact the Centre direct on
