COMPANIES QUEUE TO SIGN UP FOR NEW UNITS

Work is almost complete on Woodmoor Court, part of a £2.7 million development at Wharncliffe Business Park in Carlton, Barnsley.

Managing agents Whittle Jones have had an overwhelming response from companies interested in the ten self contained workshop units, with seven companies already signed up to move into their new premises at the end of November.

Management Surveyor, Sue Wharton of Whittle Jones said, “We have never been in this position before where companies have been lined up to sign agreements before the site is finished, which reflects the high quality of these new units and confidence in the local economy.”

Barnsley Development Agency (BDA) will be working closely with all seven companies to provide help and assistance on training, recruitment and available grants funded through SRB and Objective One. One of the companies to benefit will be H & H Marketing who will be relocating from Stockport and looking to recruit a further two staff.

The prestigious Wharncliffe development is close to the well-established Carlton Industrial Estate just four miles north of Barnsley. It forms part of one of the largest and long established industrial locations in Barnsley and is home to a variety of local, regional and national organisations. The area benefits from an excellent main road and motorway network, enhanced by the Dearne Towns A1 – M1 Link Road.

Acquired by Northern Trust Company Ltd from Priority Sites Limited, Woodmoor Court incorporates affordable units ranging from 750 – 1,500 sq ft, available on an easy in easy out basis. Each of these modern units includes up and over loading doors, heated office space, parking facilities and all services.

Whittle Jones have appointed Chris Rowlands & Co, Chartered Surveyors of Barnsley to help assist with the marketing and letting of Woodmoor Court. Chris Rowlands adds, “We are pleased with the positive response. The decision to build small units to let has been vindicated and the developers look forward to undertaking further phases of development in due course.”

There are currently three 1,250 sq ft units remaining at Woodmoor Court. To find out more please contact Sue Wharton at Whittle Jones on tel: 0113 245 6787, Chris Rowlands on 01226 791984 or Derrick Beedham at Barnsley Development Agency on tel: 01226 784 451.
