£45 MILLION THE ICING ON THE CAKE FOR MANOR


Manor Bakeries have recently announced a proposal to further develop their operation in Carlton, resulting in the creation of approximately 300 permanent full time jobs over the next 18 months


Owner, RHM Limited will invest over £45 million in Manor Bakeries, its cake producing business, over a three-year period to further strengthen the business’s market-leading position. Manor Bakeries is the largest manufacturer in the growing £1 billion UK cake market and produces some of the country’s most recognised cake brands, including Mr Kipling and Cadbury’s cakes. With a workforce of over 1000, Manor Bakeries’ Carlton operation is Barnsley’s largest private sector employer.

Manor Bakeries scale and unique strengths include its strong brands, market and consumer insights, technical know-how and manufacturing capabilities. These strengths will allow them to successfully grow their business and market share through a range of initiatives including a sustained investment in their market leading brands.
