PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BARNSLEY


Barnsley Development Agency’s (BDA), Social Enterprise Business Co-coordinator Lynda Chapman was recently presented with the Customer First Certificate.


John Mills, Senior Regeneration Manager at Yorkshire Forward presented the certificate at an event organised by the BDA to celebrate the organisations fifth birthday. “I was delighted to accept the certificate on behalf of the team”, said Lynda. “We all worked very hard to ensure we achieved this prestigious award and we trust this will give out a clear message to all of our customers that they really do come first. “

Social Enterprise Barnsley now have two teams of quality assured business advisers working throughout Barnsley. They have already provided business support and advice to over 26 community based social enterprises, selling a wide variety of goods and services and are committed to providing quality assured business advice and support to even more new social enterprises in Barnsley. Social Enterprise Barnsley Manager, Kevin Jebson adds, “Achieving the Customer First quality assurance standard is a clear demonstration of our commitment to delivering the highest standard of customer service to our clients.”

A new district office will be opening shortly that will be accessible to many groups in the Dearne Valley. Lynda Chapman will be managing the new office, which will also act as a centre offering business advice to individuals hoping to set up their own business, as well as funding advice provided by other agencies. Social Enterprise Barnsley aim to offer an integrated business and enterprise support service, to stimulate ideas and growth in the social economy.
