BODY 2000 HELPS WOMEN SHAPE UP FOR SUMMER
As the height of summer approaches, the women of Barnsley are putting their fitness first at Body 2000 in Mapplewell, Barnsley. The gym is signing up more and more new members thanks to a loan from the Prince's Trust, supported by the Community Economic Regeneration Team (CERT) at Barnsley Development Agency (BDA).
CERT have funded a full time Outreach Worker, Jill Molyneux as part of a partnership with the Prince's Trust. Jill, a representative of the Prince's Trust supports unemployed and underemployed 18 - 30 year olds who would benefit from the opportunity to be self-employed, with the help of CERT's facility. Successful applicants can access marketing grants, business grants and loans at preferential rates. One of the most promising recent start-up companies to benefit from Jill's advice and guidance is Body 2000.
Rachael Hoyland, owner of the women-only gym Body 2000, offers newcomers an induction program and recommendations sheet tailored to the individual's fitness needs.
Rachael commented: "Body 2000 is proving to be a popular service for local Barnsley women. We have been operating since October last year and each month has seen a greater increase in membership. Our customers appreciate
the opportunity to exercise in pleasant surroundings without any pressure or intimidation, which is why they come to us rather than using traditional gyms."
Body 2000 offers a range of cardio-vascular, resistance and heavy weight machines and free weights, so customers can enjoy an entire work out. Members get much more than just a gym; other facilities include sunbeds, or aerobics and exercise classes on certain evenings, in addition to this a yoga programme is currently planned in response to popular demand.
