A Poster a Day at Barnsley Digital Media Centre!

The Barnsley Digital Media Centre (DMC) at County Way in the centre of Barnsley is hosting a Technology Showcase exhibition in collaboration with the Hive Gallery. The exhibition features the work of local graphic designer Craig Burgess, including 120 of his best posters, and runs until 16th April. It is open from 8.30am to 5.00pm and is free to attend.

A year ago Craig set himself the challenge of designing a poster a day for 365 days! To make sure there was no cheating Craig set up a website, www.novlcuisine.com, to chart his progress, allow people to comment on his designs and upload their own posters. He also managed to rope in a partner, Mr P, to support him in the challenge. All the posters are available to view on the website with Mr P’s designs on the left and Mr B’s on the right.

There were a few rules - each A4 poster produced had to be printable and uploaded onto the internet before 23.59 hrs each day. Few thought that Craig would get to the end, but now having completed the challenge he is missing his daily design fix.
