Best foot forward for internet marketing firm
Internet marketing experts 'Bigfoot Digital' are ready to step up their game in 2012 with new Barnsley-based offices, the creation of new jobs, a re-launched website and a drive for new customers.
The small company, founded in 2009, is already a big player in the field of search engine optimisation and social media marketing, helping a wide range of business clients to maximise their on-line presence and actively engage with customers through the internet.
Having doubled its turnover in its second year of trading, the ambitious company has decided it needs to expand its operation and has moved from Wakefield to a bigger office in Barnsley's Digital Media Centre (DMC).
Bigfoot Digital's marketing manager Emma Sharman said: "We moved to the DMC because it is an excellent business base and because Barnsley is so centrally located in the UK. This makes it a great place for us to grow and attract new clients. We have also received fantastic support for our move from Enterprising Barnsley."
Enterprising Barnsley is assisting Big Foot's expansion with advice on effective financial management, off-line marketing and, crucially at this time, human resources.
Bigfoot Digital is headed up by founding partners Mark Woodcock and Lindsey Watson. They have just recruited Sheffield Hallam University graduate Stephanie Naylor and Emma says more recruits are to follow.
"We expect to recruit two or three more people in the next few weeks which will double the size of our internet marketing team. Our intention is to grow steadily but surely and promote ourselves both locally and nationally to attract new clients."
Bigfoot Digital currently works with over 20 clients including Lindam, the UK's number one brand for child safety gates; Munchkin, a big American baby products manufacturer new to the UK market; and Burgess Pet Care, the Yorkshire-based pet food manufacturer.
Burgess Pet Care marketing manager Naomi Chatterley said: "Bigfoot Digital has consistently delivered successful internet marketing campaigns for us and, of all our marketing efforts, it's the digital activity that delivers the best return on investment. We now have numerous page one positions on Google, Bing and Yahoo and traffic to our website has grown considerably. Our Facebook business pages went from a standing start to over 18,000 followers in just a few months and continue to grow."
Bigfoot Digital works hard to get their clients high up in relevant 'key word' search engine listings and to encourage as much on-line traffic as possible to company websites and social media pages. Through Search, Facebook, Twitter and other social media, it seeks to improve brand recognition and reputation amongst target audiences - helping clients to develop pro-active and profitable relationships with customers.
A re-vamped website www.bigfootdigital.co.uk is being launched this week to reflect the company's bold new moves in Barnsley.
Enterprising Barnsley Business Development Manager Adrian Waite said: "We are delighted to support Bigfoot Digital's plans for expansion in Barnsley. As experienced internet marketing experts they offer a specialised service which has a clear focus on delivering results to clients. We believe the company has genuine high growth prospects."
The Enterprising Barnsley programme offers business support to Barnsley businesses with growth potential and has helped create more than 600 jobs. Enterprising Barnsley has attracted £2.89m investment from the European Regional Development Fund as part of Europe's support for the region's economic development through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme.
