The Enterprise Zone is an area of approximately 360 acres of principally industrial land across six sites. The majority of land is available for immediate development.

The designation lasts 10 years and the main benefits of EZ status to companies (All manufacturing industries are eligible except those subject to special European Union Restrictions*, some service sector projects may also qualify) are:-

• Exemption from National Non Domestic Business Rates (Property Tax) until November 2005.

• 100 percent Capital Allowances, on eligible expenditure, for Tax purposes.

• Outline Planning Permission already in place for business, general, industrial and distribution purposes

* Note: EU obligations prohibit or impose restrictions on the granting of aid (including EZ benefits) to projects in certain sectors.
