Gas Appliance Spares (Barnsley) Ltd, suppliers of heating equipment and spares to gas fitters and engineers, is one of the first companies to start up business at Unit 10, Wharncliffe Business Park at Carlton.

A family owned business, Gas Appliance Spares (Barnsley) Ltd was set up by Greg and Janet Lawton along with their two sons, Ross and Tim. Eldest son Ross, who is himself a CORGI registered gas engineer and experienced in the trade, will manage the day-to-day running of the new business along with Company Secretary, Janet.

The company moved into the new 1500 sq. ft. unit where trading commenced on 17th January 2005. Opening hours are 8.30 till 5pm, Monday to Friday and 8.30 till 12pm on Saturdays.

Managed by property agents Whittle Jones, the units at Wharncliffe offer a secure central location, situated close to the well-established Carlton Industrial Estate, just 4 miles north of Barnsley town centre. The area also benefits from an excellent main road and motorway network, enhanced by the Dearne Town A1 - M1 Link Road.

Barnsley Development Agency assisted Gas Appliance Spares (Barnsley) Ltd in their premise search and helped to find the suitable location. Through the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB6), BDA has also facilitated funding for training on the Accounting software package, SAGE.
