Barnsley Chamber of Commerce and Industry are working in partnership with Rural Business Networking,

Working together, the Partnership is looking to establish a Penistone Chamber of Commerce and Trade to represent the views of all Penistone businesses. To take this initiative forward, a business forum meeting is to be held at Cubley Hall on Tuesday 1st March from 8 till 9.30am. All local companies in the Penistone district, regardless of sector, are invited to attend and have an input into setting up the new Chamber.

The event will include a presentation by a representative of Otley Chamber of Commerce and Trade on setting up the organisation and how it succeeds in giving its members a co-ordinated voice. The speaker will also address some of the benefits that a Chamber can bring such as improved exchanges of information, effective dealing of local issues and financial savings.

Following the presentation, the meeting will consider and discuss various funding and membership proposals. It will then look at agreeing a forward strategy and securing the necessary commitment of local businesses.
