Barnsley based company Tung and Chi have recently been awarded a place at the prestigious ‘100% Design’ international exhibition at Earls Court in London. Owner, Chi Lin Wong has a wide range of experience in furniture design and a BA Hons degree in 3-dimensional design. Barnsley Development Agency (BDA) have recently awarded Tung and Chi with an Objective 1 Business Development Grant for over £1,800 which will enable them to attend 100% Design in London at the end of September. Chi Lin Wong added, “I was delighted to be invited to attend the highly acclaimed event and would like to thank the BDA for a great opportunity to launch my products to an international audience.” In the last year the company have received valuable business support from BDA who also administrated a single regeneration budget (SRB 6) Creativity Works! grant for £4,400 to fund a prototype and production of tables. Tung and Chi have also benefited greatly from attending the Creative Networks! Programme which is also funded by Objective 1 and gives creative people a chance to meet on a regular basis to share ideas and skills and from Creative Industries Development Agency (CIDA) business mentors who offer advice and help on business matters.
