Incorporated in early 2005, Plausible was established by joint directors, Pat McMahon and Terry Ashton. The first manufacturer of its kind in Yorkshire, the company offers a range of bespoke residential park homes to private individuals and park owners. Pat and Terry, both qualified Mechanical Engineers, have over 40 years combined experience in design, manufacture and management and have previously worked with clients such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus and BMW. The decision to start up Plausible came about after identifying a niche in the marketplace and combining an opportunity to apply their many years of relevant experience with the passion and commitment to run a successful, high-growth business. With the assistance of Barnsley Development Agency, Plausible identified and subsequently invested in spacious premises at Park Springs Business Park, Grimethorpe. A modern building providing centrally located manufacturing and office space as well as excellent transport links, this unit provides the company with an ideal base for their on-site design and manufacturing processes. Plausible creates individually tailored design solutions but is currently manufacturing three demonstration units at the company’s Park Springs premises. Substantial investment in state-of-the-art technology provides Plausible with 3D computer-aided design software and lean, cost-efficient manufacturing techniques as used extensively in the automotive industry. These advantages will ensure the highest quality in production, shorter lead times and significant cost savings which will ultimately be passed on to the client, giving Plausible a highly competitive edge. The company will create at least twelve new jobs over the coming months and believes strongly in developing a well-trained, valued workforce. In addition, Plausible is committed to prompt accreditation with Investors in People combined with a dedicated staff development programme and achievement of the British Standards Institution’s BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality system accreditation. Pat McMahon, Director at Plausible, commented, “This is a tremendously exciting venture, and the culmination of a great deal of experience and planning. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional design, the highest possible service levels and value for money for all our clients. We are grateful to BDA for assisting us in our premises search and we believe that our first manufacturing plant at Park Springs is the ideal location from which to establish our client base and grow Plausible Ltd into a major force within the industry.” Ann Glews, Business Development Officer at Barnsley Development Agency, adds, “It is encouraging to see that companies such as Plausible understand the many benefits of setting up in this former coalfield area of Barnsley and can contribute to its continuing regeneration. BDA wishes Plausible every success and is pleased to offer any available support and assistance.” For additional information about Plausible Ltd, please call Pat McMahon on 01226 781850 or visit www.plausible-online.com. |
