Covering 127 square miles (329 square kilometres) – of which over 80% is green, open countryside - Barnsley is the fourth largest metropolitan Borough in the UK. The M1 runs through the centre of the Borough, providing rapid access to the M18, M62 and A1 plus nearby airports, seaports and rail terminals.

Organisations are being attracted to Barnsley by the available cost-effective premises which enable expansion both now and in the future. Competitive rental and purchase rates and the committed, skilled workforce in Barnsley and the surrounding area are also key incentives.
