| CJ Morton & Co Ltd, a high quality professional contract packing company, are setting up a subsidiary company, MCM Services in Darton, Barnsley, which will create over 34 new job opportunities. The new site is due to open in Spring 2005 and will be located alongside Stiller Osbourne, a large distribution company. The family owned company has been established since 1988 and offer a high quality production service in both the food and non-food sector in terms of flexibility, reliability and efficiency. The new Darton site will house the professional packaging of cleaning utensils among other products. Managing Director, Chris Morton said, “We are excited about moving to Barnsley and the opportunity to transfer our expertise and excellence to continue to offer a high quality service to our customers.” CJ Morton & Co Ltd employs over 120 staff, and offers good working conditions and family friendly policies, which will transfer to MCM Services. Managing Director Chris Morton adds “We are very proud to have good working relationships within our workforce in Calderdale and hope to achieve the same working environment at our Barnsley site.” Barnsley Development Agency (BDA) is currently assisting the company on their move to the area.
