Significant commercial investment in Barnsley is aiming to attract businesses to locate in the area, boosting the economy, increasing demand for local products and services, and bringing employment opportunities.

Fields End Business Park is a joint venture between Office Villages and The Barnsley Miller Partnership. Located between junction 36 of the M1 and the A1(M), it is a development of brand new, quality office accommodation, designed to attract high calibre tenants whose needs have not previously been catered for in the town.

Barnsley Development Agency (BDA) is providing support and assistance with the scheme, offering business advice and helping to identify potential occupiers who may create further jobs in the area.

Shaun Higginbottom, Dearne Strategic Economic Zone Manager at BDA, commented, “We are delighted to see a speculative office development of this quality becoming available in Barnsley. This is a further vote of confidence for Barnsley as a location for business and a boost for our local economy.

The accommodation comprises 46,070 sq ft of high quality office space, in nine individual buildings, with extensive on site parking.

Suites range in size from just 2,260 sq ft and are available to let or to buy – an increasingly popular route for owner managers looking to supplement their pension.

Mike Tracey, Director of Office Villages, said: “The Fields End scheme has been designed to fill a gap in the local commercial property market, and add value to the area. We are delighted to be taking a lead in the regeneration of the site and are confident that demand will be high for the standard of accommodation we are building.”

Fields End enjoys a convenient position near Goldthorpe, providing a range of amenities and offering excellent communication links by road, rail and air.
