“In the early days,” explained Debbie, “there was just me, Brian and a single colour machine. The dark room and camera have now been replaced by a computer to plate process, which of course requires investment in new equipment, staff and training. The team is now nine strong, with Brian and Simon on production. I cover the finance and admin side, whilst we have two staff on pre press and printing and one on finishing and sales.”
At PHP they are well aware that as the design and print process has changed over the years, it has been essentaial to keep up to date with new technologies. Using state-of-the-art technology now means PHP can specialise in large format print and display exhibition systems. Laminating and mounting equipment, an UltraChrome Vivid Magenta system and innovative Micro Piezo TFP print heads provide the sharpest colour reproduction and an incredibly fast turnaround with delivery normally within 2-3 days, depending on size and quantity.
Customer service, quality and choice are also paramount and the team at PHP work hard towards providing continuous quality within the finished product, coupled with great customer service. Offering a wide choice means that the customers have a huge selection of different media and materials to pick from, including banners, vinyl, mesh, canvas, PVC, window film, and poster papers in matt, satin and gloss finish.
They also take their green credentials very seriously, using recycled paper and paper made from virgin wood pulp from sustainable forests, as well as biodegradable vegetable based inks.
PHP are proud to have worked locally with Barnsley Football Club, the Metrodome, Civic and Parkway Cinema amongst many others; but also operate on a national basis, working on prestigious contracts for big name brands such as Triumph International and the Association of Train Operating Companies.
As the business has expanded PHP feel that the ongoing support and advice from John Heckingbottom from the Investment & Development Team at the BDA has really helped to focus and streamline operations.
